Oseberg Ship

A rendering of the carved detail on the stern of the ninth century Viking Ship, Oseberg (also known as Osberg). The Oseberg Ship is believed to be the burial ship of the great Viking Queen Asa. It was found in 1903 in a burial mound on the south western coast of Norway. The ship was excavated in 1904 , preserved and now is housed fully intact in the Viking Ship Museum at Bygdo outside of Oslo, Norway.
